Wait wait wait, are you combining both sim's to fly? How do you sync those sims? FNG 2, Posted December 1, edited. I have a cockpit setup very similar to yours 3x4k TV's surrounding me with a mixture of real sim gear, spad and air manager Assuming I'd like to stick with just FS for Server and clients, only drawback I have in FS is the G's configs in the game are not complete, every other peripheral works correctly. So are just visual slaves 2 PCs for avionics. One runs master P3D with wideview server and some avionics, the other runs "hardware connections" and ProSim. Over gigabit network - I have no issues with that at all. Idea: Im happy with P3D and prosim flight dynamics in it. Don't want prosim to redo anything specifically for X-Plane, etc I want to use X-Plane for visuals because I like it. Airport flattenig option is enabled in X-Plane - so that you don't get the nice curved runways.
I've considered ways to keep X-Plane curved runways whilst flight model in P3D runs on flat runways - perhaps via billenear interpolation across the sample points on mesh - but for now dismissed the idea. The master P3D still runs the flight model and that's what prosim talks to etc. It still contains all scenery etc. I actually was expecting that the scenery in P3D will be a least a bit off form X-Plane. So far, the airports I tried - are matched so closely that I see no difference on the outside screens between X-Plane or P3D.
Since that master P3D provides no visuals - the only thing that matters is that the flight model "runs" on the same scenery you visually see outside. If it's all one color ploygons - is immaterial - you don't see them since visuals are from X-Plane Good thing about it - any addons you use - as long as they are not "particularly visual" - continue to work with X-Plane so to speak: I use RadarContact - and that still sits on the P3D master and works.
Questions: When people are talking about support for X-Plane, is it flightmodel related or is it more about what you see outside?
At this stage I don't intend to release any of the software, as it's quite likely buggy and still work in progress, however, I'd like to gauge interest from people on that topic. Is what Im doing of interest to people?
