The Transformers opened with the three-part mini-series "More Than Meets The Eye," depicting the Transformers crash-landing on Earth then reawakening in after millions of years in stasis lock and beginning their war anew. One of the most iconic moments from the mini-series came in Part 2, when Optimus and Megatron met atop the Sherman dam. Optimus uses an Energon Axe while Megatron opts for a Flail.
The fight was the first indication of how evenly matched the two rivals were, and the weapons used became iconic in their own right to the point of being the standard for later versions. In the final episodes of anime Transformers Armada , the Autobots and Decepticons ally against the shared threat of planet-eater Unicron , who threatens to devour Cybertron. After Unicron is seemingly defeated, Optimus and Megatron battle one last time, to determine who will lead the now united Transformer race.
As the battle rages on, both opponents sustaining more and more damage, their mutual hatred reawakens Unicron, who feeds on such energy. Megatron then makes an unexpectedly noble turn, sacrificing himself and falling into Unicron's maw before the Dark God can fully reawaken, leaving Optimus as Cybertron's steward. Transformers Animated took a different route with Optimus Prime ; rather than the renowned leader of the Autobots, he was instead an academy drop-out in command of only a small team of rookies.
Thus, he and Megatron did not have their typical relationship for most of the series; the Decepticon leader saw Prime as beneath him, not even bothering to learn the young Autobot's name. This makes their battle in the series finale, "Endgame," one of the most satisfying in the annals of Transformers fiction; equipped with a jetpack and the Magnus Hammer, Optimus is finally able to fight Megatron on even footing, and as their aerial battle wages on, Megatron at last acknowledges Optimus by name.
After being critically damaged in an explosion, Megatron implores Prime to put him out of his misery, but Optimus refuses, declaring the Decepticon doesn't deserve a swift end. Part 1 of Prime' s epic Season 1 finale, "One Shall Fall," took advantage of the series' photorealistic art-style to give fans the kind of Optimus and Megatron clash the Bay movies had so long denied them.
But Megatron has thick skin. Hand to hand combat? Hate to sound Machiavellian, but I think Megatron would still have a little bit of an edge. He's bulkier and more ruthless.
But Prime is quick and thinks on his feet, and Megatron talks too much. In all honesty, and I hate to say it, but I think it would come down to situational context Mshinu Megatron is far more powerful than Optimus. He lost because he was protecting Sam. When has that ever happen? Even in beast wars Megatron ran from Optimus during a one on one fight. Sadako of Girth I am amazed at the amount of the one person who thinks Megatron is bound to fighting fair. He is clearly bigger than Prime, heavier, better armed, and in the bay movie can move that mass quicker than Prime Coming in from jet mode, especially. BackinBlack Optimus is a dumbass. Prime was messed up quite a few times in season 2. Yet invariably, he'd always be back by the episode's conclusion.. Just as they had completed construction of the Star Harvester, The Fallen discovered a primitive race of hunters. The Primes invoked their rule of the sanctity of life and refused to activate the Harvester, but The Fallen despised the humans as simple insects and attempted to activate the Harvester.
Despite different approaches to the characters throughout the history of the franchise, we can conclude that Optimus Prime is stronger than Megatron and would defeat him in a fight, as he did on so many occasions before. Well realistically, Unicron should be much powerful than Primus, for multiple reasons: Unicron has more, and incredible feats.
Unicron devoured the Multiverse before. Primus, most of the time, slumbers while being Cybertron. Bumblebee did get a few major upgrades over the years. Destiny 2.
